2005-05-24 - 2:47 p.m. Hey everyone! Thanks for visiting WWW.SOULSRELEASE.COM. This Is Joshua checking in with you to bring you up to date on all that is new in the life of SR. There’s plenty to talk about, so let’s get it on! Before we get too deep I need you to stop what you’re doing and mark your calendars for a VERY important SR show at The Crossroads in Garwood, NJ. This is a great room for live music and you can get a really great meal here too! As you know, we’re going to be releasing our CD soon and we’d like to throw our release party at this venue. However, in order to do that we’re going need a lot of people to show up this time around. So, call your friends and plan an evening of food, great live music and a few drinks. Here are the details: FRIDAY, JUNE 3rd We’re very excited to announce that we’re making great process on our soon to be released CD. We’ve been mixing the 10 song album with Don Sternecker at Mix-O-Lydian and we’re starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel now. We’ve got 3 sessions scheduled this week which we are planning to use to complete the mixing process (minus some minor tweaking here and there). So far everything sounds excellent. We’re really looking forward to sharing this record with you. It’s been a labor of love and we know that our hard work will yield a final result that we will be very happy with. More news on that to come…stay tuned! We’ve been on a really good roll lately when it comes to our live shows. On Saturday, May 14th we returned to one of our favorite stomping grounds, John & Peter’s, in New Hope PA! Our good friends BILLY started out the night with a wonderful set of much of their newer material. Their pop sensibility is so well balanced with their amazing musicianship and artistic integrity. It is always very cool to share a bill with them. We took the stage that night just prior to midnight and were delighted to find a room packed with some of our most loyal fans and beloved friends! Our hour plus set seemed to just fly by as we all connected and rocked together. We were also able to debut our version of the Rolling Stones’ Classic, “Jumping Jack Flash”, as well as our newest original tune, “The Syndrome”. Both were received very well thanks to our extremely spirited audience! The following Wednesday we packed up the van and headed back to Pennsylvania for our first ever performance at Grape Street Philadelphia! First of all, this is definitely one of the coolest rooms we’ve ever played! It’s a multi-level room/club with state of the art audio & video, and (most importantly) a cool vibe. We were aware of the reputation this club has, as well as its size. So, we really needed a good turn out on this night. Again, our fans & friends came through in a HUGE way. We can not thank you enough for coming out in such big numbers to support us…particularly on a Wednesday night! Once again, backed by the energy of an awesome crowd (many of which had caught our performance just a few days prior in New Hope), we glided through our set with a little extra “something”. We also had a lot of fun hanging with all of you after the show. Thank you, as you truly made a difference! We’ll look forward to returning to this great venue in the near future. This past Saturday, May 21, we returned to NJ by presenting an evening of rock & roll music at Pavinci’s. This venue was a definite change of pace for us, as it combined the type of intimacy that you usually get at our shows with an amazing dining experience! Also, located on the shore of Lake Hopatcong, Pavinci’s is one of the more scenic venues we’ve ever performed at. Again, we have to thank our incredibly loyal fans & friends for rocking out and dancing throughout our 3 sets! The rock continued on Sunday as we traveled down the Garden State Parkway to the legendary Stone Pony, in Asbury Park, NJ! To play at a venue with such an amazing history is always a treat. However, Sunday’s experience was extra special because we were there to attend the wedding of BlowUpRadio.com’s founder and host, Lazlo Selzer and his beautiful wife, Naomi! The short, yet touching ceremony was followed by one hell of a party which featured performances by John Taglieri, My Pocket Zoo, and Souls’ Release! Don’t worry; we didn’t play “The Electric Slide” or anything like that! Lazlo and Naomi are staunch supporters of independent music and demanded that we play our set as if it were a typical gig! So thanks Naomi & Lazlo for having SR be a part of your special day. We wish you love and happiness until the end of time! May was an awesome month for us. Again, we thank everyone who came out to support us. You’ve made these performances very special to us and you’ve helped make a good showing when we’ve really needed it. We’ve taken a lot of pictures of you guys hanging out with us and we’ve already started to post some of them in our “Friends of SR” gallery. Go check it out right now and check back soon as we’ll probably have a few new ones up there within the next week or so. There’s so much more I’d like to tell you about, but I’m going to leave it at that for now. Please check back soon as there is plenty going on and we’ll have more to inform you about soon. On behalf of Jon, Nick & Sean, I want to reiterate that the support you’ve been showing us is just amazing. Know that each and every one of you is playing a part in our growing success and that we enjoy entertaining you more than you could ever imagine! We’ll see you at Crossroads on June 3rd! Continue to love yourselves and each other! Joshua
