Hey friends!! Joshua, Jon, Sean, and I are in the midst of an awesome recording experience!! We started the recording process with an amazing “weekend lockout” at Mix-O-Lydian Studio in Lafayette, NJ. First of all, let’s tell you what a “weekend lockout” is.
When recording a quality album, a serious number of hours are required. In order to capture a consistent recording energy it’s best to keep the sessions flowing. A “weekend lockout” consists of SR arriving at the studio on Friday evening and staying until Sunday evening. Besides some sleep hours… we were constantly in the studio recording, recording, recording!!
The basic tracks which resulted from this past weekend were excellent!! They will form the foundation of our CD due out in mid-2005. Jon and Sean laid down powerful bass & drum tracks that made me shiver. Their feel is amazing and the chemistry between these two rhythm section powerhouses is undeniable!!
Joshua and I tracked guitar parts for “This 1 Is 4 U” and “Love Triangle”. The tones are sweet, the parts are tight, and they weave beautifully. Listening back in the control room with speakers blaring got everyone fired up. Who knew there was 18 inches of snow outside!?!?!
We owe a big THANKS to our producer (Bob Perry) and our engineer (Don Sternecker) for manning the helm of the SR recording ship. Bob Perry is an amazing producer and has become an incredible friend of SR. We value his friendship and guidance. Much props go out to BP!!

Well, it’s now Wednesday afternoon (January 26) and we head back to Mix-O-Lydian on Friday for another full weekend lockout. We’ll keep ya posted!!
